About us: What do we do?

The Bible is centralLike Christians in the New Testament, we are glad to meet together on Sundays to worship God and to encourage one another. When we meet, we sing in praise of God, we talk to him in prayer, and we listen to the Bible as it is explained to us.

The Bible is central whenever we meet. On some Sunday evenings we remember the death of Jesus with a symbolic meal and also pray together. Our Tuesday evening meetings can be an oasis in our busy lives as we study the Bible in a more informal way.

Meeting together is not the only thing we do. We aim to provide practical care for one another through the week as far as we can. We also get involved in helping to meet various needs in our local community, from visiting the sick to serving on local committees. We have a Fair Trade shop called Fair Share in Berwick Street, Soho.

Historically there was little for children to do in the area, so our clubs for young people were designed to meet that need. They continue to offer a safe place for children to come together and enjoy a range of activities. As part of each club we provide relevant Bible teaching for them to think about.

The good news that we Christians believe is not just for us - it's for everybody! So we do whatever we can to pass the message on. For example, Real Life, our church leaflet, is delivered to homes in the West End. Once a month we have a Real Life Talk at Fair Share. Every week we go out to James Street, Covent Garden, for open air preaching and to talk to individuals who are passing by. We also put out a book table after our Tuesday evening meeting at Fair Share.
